UAE Out-Of-Home Was Broken Two Ways.
Brands were paying for billboards on Sheikh Zayed Road to reach a customer who actually lives in three neighborhoods. The unit of sale was the city, not the block. A campaign built for Arabian Ranches families was being sold across all of Dubai — at all-of-Dubai prices — and most of the spend hit people who would never walk into the store.
Meanwhile, the cafes, salons and supermarkets that already had the foot traffic — supermarket queues, table tents in Business Bay, screens above counters in Dubai Marina — had no way to monetize the attention. The audience was sitting right in front of them. The advertising industry was selling it 30 kilometres away.
We built oohup to close that gap. One marketplace. Brands buy by neighborhood and surface. Venues earn from the customers already in the room.
